This replacement cap is designed to convert the standard felt clutch system to a conventional Weston speed cap, operating from locked up to free running in half a turn. They are supplied with carbon washers which also give better performance and increased sensitivity and smoothness.
These 3 carbon washers replace the 3 felt washers inside your spool and come supplied with ceramic clutch grease to lightly grease the carbon washers with.

To change the washers simply remove the screws in the front of the spool, lift off the retaining ring and rubber seal to gain access to the metal and felt washers, now replace the standard felt washers in the same order with the carbon ones supplied, replace the rubber seal and retaining ring and re fit the screws.
You can add or remove the felt washers to adjust the feel and speed of the speed cap. More carbon washers equals a faster quick drag.
Made from light weight aero grade aluminium with a Satin Black anodised finish.
They have the option to fit a Gardner 12mm x 2mm Isotope (not supplied) off set to one side in the front which are available in many colours to suit your tastes. (It is recommend using a small drop of clear silicon sealer for securing the isotopes).
Compatible with all the 5500 XTB Ci4, XSC and XTC and non Ci4 reels.
